French - Chilean Cavalry Sabre M1890
The sabre was made for the Chilean cavalry between 1891 and 1893 as evidenced by the French inspection poincon on the ricasso.
French made cavalry sabre. The spine of the blade marked with the French arsenal, "Manufacture d'armes de Chatellerault," followed by "JH," the initials of Jacob Holtzer, the French government exporter.
That was a very nice French model make for Chilean army that the second take I take one like that.
