Bavarian sword Pre WW1
1889 did see the standardization of cavalry and other swords for governmental use, but for the private purchase types makers advertised and sold versions of older "traditional" patterns. The saber here most likely for someone who was in a Bavarian (horse mounted/towed supply) "Train" - that could be worn off duty with the proper uniform. That sword is probably a private purchase.
The sword is in perfect condition.
